CPS 4100 Nozzle Modifications by Aqua Flash (March 2007)
The CPS 4100 is a great gun don't get me wrong. But I felt it needed a little more oomph when it came to soaking things and just being generally more intimidating.
In this simple mod you will need.
CPS 4100 (well no shit sherlock) Screwdriver Saw File Sandpaper 3cm tubing (size depends on how much you file) Hot glue (depends on tubing you use and how snug it fits)
The Typhoon Storm Nozzle
Take your gun, and look at its nozzles. First, see that Typhoon nozzle. Use a small flathead or just a normal head screwdriver and pick out those hole supports. When finished smoothen down and it should look like this.

There, now you have a pretty devastating fan blast nozzle.
The Big Shower Nozzle
I still wanted a little bit more. And after some experimenting. I noticed behind the stream nozzles were lots of holes, so I thought, the perfect shower nozzle! And it worked. Choose which nozzle you least want to use (the 2.5x was the most useless to me, might be different in your opinion of what suits you though), and then take screw off the nozzle and saw down until you have a smooth surface with lots of holes in. Like this.
There you go! So simple! Try it and be amazed, this is equivalent to the Super Charger Power Pak's Saturator setting, only with a CPS 4100. Get close within this and your soaked!
The Riot Stream Nozzle
For this, you either need to sacrifice another nozzle setting, or replace the shower nozzle. You can probably do this replacing the fan nozzle as well, however you may need different materials depending on the piping sizes. This nozzle modification basically creates a good 20x ish nozzle for your CPS 4100 which actually shoots pretty good and far, and soaks obviously.First,
we are focusing on removing the shower setting from the gun. That
means, doing it safely is key, plastic can be fairly strong you know,
yes, even with holes in. So first take off the nozzle with a
screwdriver (duh), you'll be doing a fair bit of pulling and you don't
want to snap anything. When off, get some good pliers and start
pulling and gripping off those shower holes until you can get off most
of it, you'll see at the back of the nozzle selector of each nozzle a
very good sized hole, you need to get enough plastic off until nothing
is blocking you from seeing that hole fully. When you've taken enough
off it'll be a fair bit messy so file it down until it is smooth a good
enough to fit a tube through. It should look something like this, I
didn't do a great job, but it was fine considering I found the right
tube to suit my needs.
 Also,
if you aren't bothered about the Typhoon Blast/Typhoon Storm nozzle,
then that nozzle doesn't actually have those shower holes behind it
since its not a stream setting, so doing this mod to that nozzle
providing your not bothered about it might be different, so you may need a different sort of piping. If you don't care about the piping, you can actually just leave this as it is and you'll get a large powerful stream, just messier, it is like this for either nozzle you try this on.
Next,
depending on how much you've filed, it really depends what sized tubing
you use. The tubing I used is 3cm long (recommended length) and its
total width is about 1.5cm.
 The
tubing I used was also flexible and soft which allowed a much more snug
fit that didn't actually need hot gluing. It could also be taken out
pretty nicely too. You can also see from the picture that this tubing
actually has an inside layer too, this was the perfect size to actually
go over the nozzle hole, it was perfectly in line and the right size.
Sorry I can't give the name of the tubing, it was just something at my
Dad's work which was lying around so he took some just in case I needed
it (which I did because of this and it was perfect). So this section
really does depend on your filing to what tubing you use. PETG tubing
is good (used for Nerf gun modifications a lot), as again like this its
flexible, light and shouldn't take too much effort to put in. Again it
just depends and is more up to you here. Although flexible tubing to
me would probably work better here, it worked like a dream for me.
Once you're done and happy, put your tubing through the nozzle, it should look something like this.
Now,
mine didn't need hot glue to hold it in it was that snug, so again,
depending on the tubing you use you might want to use some hot glue to
seal it, but again it could turn out like mine and you may not need
to. No water when fired leaks out of the sides of mine its that snug.
Once
you've done, congratulations! Depending on whether you have done it
right, you should get a great large stream with good range that is
capable of challenging on a much bigger scale. It still may not be as
powerful as a CPS 1500 or 2500, was never meant to be, but now it has
what a lot of bigger guns have, a big drenching nozzle used for huge
water devastation whenever one feels like it.
Now, pictures of the finished gun.
